There is no "clay" in metal clay. The word clay refers to the techniques used in the fabrication of the pieces. Powderized metal is mixed with an organic binder and then water is added until the a "clay-like" texture is created. The pieces are then fabricated and fired in a kiln between 1500-1800 degrees, burning out the organic binder and fusing the metal particles together. Afterward, the pieces are sanded and polished.
